STERIS Spordi® Biological Indicator Strips are specifically designed for determining the effectiveness of steam, ethylene oxide (EO), or dry heat. Each strip is made from special filter paper inoculated with both Bacillus atrophaeus (BA) and Geobacillus stearothermophilus (GST) bacterial spores. The strips are sealed in clearly identified sterilizable glassine packages. This minimizes inventory because one package of Spordi Biological Indicator Strips can be used to monitor the performance of steam, EO, and dry heat sterilizers.
HOW SPORDI BIOLOGICAL INDICATOR STRIPS WORK
STERIS Spordi Biological Indicator Strips are small strips of special filter paper inoculated with bacterial spores (both Bacillus atrophaeus (BA) for ethylene oxide or dry heat sterilization and Geobacillus stearothermophilus (GS) for saturated steam sterilization). Each strip is packaged in a glassine envelope and used to validate or requalify sterilization processes.
